sugar magazine shoot

so if you have been a follower for a while you will have read my post about getting featured in the one and only sugar magazine! i managed to get the opportunity because i did an internship there over the summer and was offered the privilege to model in the 'take six' section.  the shoot was really cool and professional with huge mirrors and stylists to sort your hair and makeup out and there was a proper set with bright lighting and everything haha, unfortunately the styling was not very 'me' and they curled my hair and put on pink lipstick(!!) but it needed to fit the image of a christmas party etc so just had to suck it up haha, now some of the pictures aren't too great but here are a few of them: (first one was the one featured in the magazine).

in case you were wondering what the letters are about, there were several girls in the shoot and we had to pose with letters that spelled out 'party' (with a star at the end haha)

01: okay, so i've been thinking about the overall design of the Susanna Valentine website and blog and have decided that it needs to be changed.  when i first started up the company i wanted it to be all girly and cute but i've changed my mind since then and have decided that it's not me at all, i'm more into quirky things and would like my business and the products to portray who i am so from now on i'm going to try and achieve a more individual image with my jewellery to match my personality.  so, for the next few days/weeks the sites might begin to take on mixed images so please ignore this, it's probably just me experimenting with everything!  so yeah, stay tuned for a big image change!


02: i've also been wanting to do a proper photoshoot for aaages but have never had the chance to yet, plus it's winter now, so no more beautiful sunny days with nice lighting unfortunately ):  but i will try my best to get a shoot done soon!


03: lastly, i've been thinking that my blog needs some regularity so i'm adding a new feature every sunday called sunday round up! this will just be a random collection of links that i've collected throughout the week, it can include anything from songs to photographers to interesting news in general. today i have decided to share a song i found recently that i have fallen in love with! it's called black sheep by metric and i discovered it in the movie 'scott pilgrim saves the world' which i'm sure everyones heard of.  anyway maybe let me know what you think in the comments!  (just to let you know, the intro is really long, the song doesn't actually kick in properly until 0.34!)

what a week!

okay sorry i havent written in aaaages, i've been so so busy with my work experience!  i spent a week as an intern at the sugar magazine offices in london and it was so cool! so much goes on there and i even got to spend a day at a photoshoot for a magazine! susanna valentine has also managed to get some great advertising in return for me working there so our website is getting featured on sugarscape.com aswell as me modelling in a take six: readers photoshoot wearing susanna valentine jewellery!  hopefully this advertising will help out business cause we've not been doing too well lately! i'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone at sugar for a great experience and for also helping me out so much!
i'll write soon and i have some new products lined up too so look forward to that!
